Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Fluent mobile application and related services. By creating an account or using Fluent, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Fluent provides online language learning through lessons, exercises, community features, messaging, gamification (XP, levels, streaks), and scheduled live sessions. Features may change or expand over time.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- New accounts may require admin approval before full access is granted.
- We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community.
3. Enrollment & groups
Access to lessons and community features is tied to your assigned group and classroom. You may not share your account or attempt to access groups or content you are not authorized to view.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, bully, threaten, or discriminate against others.
- Post illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or violent content.
- Spam, impersonate others, or misrepresent your identity.
- Upload malware, scrape the service, or attempt to bypass security or access controls.
- Share lesson materials publicly in ways that violate intellectual property rights.
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose.
Teachers and admins may moderate chat, feed content, and attachments. We may remove content and restrict accounts at our discretion.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit (posts, messages, worksheets, media). You grant Fluent a non-exclusive license to host, display, and process that content solely to operate the service (e.g. show your post to your group, deliver your message, let teachers review worksheets).
6. Our content
Lessons, videos, exercises, branding, and other materials provided by Fluent are protected by copyright and related laws. You may use them only for personal learning within the app unless we give written permission otherwise.
7. Live sessions
Scheduled live classes may open an external meeting link (e.g. Zoom). Those sessions are subject to the third-party provider’s terms and privacy policy. Be respectful; do not record or redistribute live sessions unless explicitly allowed by your teacher and Fluent.
8. Notifications
We may send push and in-app notifications about learning activity, community updates, and live sessions. You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
9. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or specific learning outcomes. Language progress depends on your effort and participation.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fluent and its team shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you use a free tier.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the revised version on this page. Material changes may also be communicated in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be subject to the competent courts in Morocco, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
